As the NFL starts up so does the excitement surrounding fantasy football. However, this week is probably the hardest week of fantasy, with the nerve racking uncertainty of how your players will perform.
Roy’s Picks:
One player that you should try to avoid starting this week is wide receiver Keenan Allen. Although they will be playing a very average Titans defense, there is no saying on how Caleb Williams will perform and whether he plays well or not will determine everything for Allen. Williams is also coming off a rough last year of college football and is now in a new environment and a league with the best of the best. New coaching, amazing talent all over the field, Allen’s old age, and recent heel problems should make you think twice before starting him.
One player that cannot be on your bench this week is Drake London. Yes he has had an incredible lack of production his whole career and is seen to be one of the more overrated wideouts in the league. Although, you can’t blame it all on him, he’s been trapped with poor coaching and bridge quarterbacks his whole career. Now this year he’s getting a real shot with his big play ability, new coaching, and now being paired up with a quarterback like Kirk Cousins his production is bound to sky rocket. Cousins is older and coming off an achilles injury however, I don’t believe it will affect him. Cousins has been more of a pocket passer his whole career, and the Falcons have a very solid offense all around so expect big things from these Falcons players.
Naps Picks:
This week I interviewed Oakmont business/finance teacher Mr. Owen Napolitano. His must start this week is Jayden Daniels. He believes that Daniels has come into the league pro ready and is ready to take all of the responsibility of the struggling Commanders offense. Although he is young, Nap believes he’s going to make a huge leap in his game and take the Commander’s offense to a whole new level.
One player Mr. Nap said to try to avoid this week is Zay Flowers. He believes that Zay is going to be bullied all game by the Chiefs secondary. With the schemes of the Chiefs, Nap believes that his lack of strength, separation could be a huge issue for the young wideout. Also last year the Chiefs defeated the Ravens in the AFC championship and a huge factor in that loss was Flowers getting in his head and allowing himself to be taken out of the game. If Flowers allows this to happen again this time around it is almost guaranteed for him to have an awful fantasy week.
