Millions of people celebrate Halloween every year. Whether it be handing out candy, dressing up in costumes and going trick or treating, or even watching horror movies all night. For many kids Halloween is a day where you can dress up in anything you want and not be judged for it.

The costumes everyone wants to be turn out to be the most common you see on Halloween night. Princess costumes have come out to be one of the most common costumes this year especially with the new Frozen movie coming out in November of 2019. Elsa and Anna are now the two most popular princess-queen duos of the newer generations.

Superhero costumes have become very popular this year too. The Avengers costumes have been especially popular this year with the new movie Avengers: Endgame that came out in April 26th of 2019. The most popular Avenger costumes this year is Spiderman with his new movie that also came out this year on June 26th. 

 More popular costumes for this year are superheros and supervillains. Captain Marvel, Harley Quinn, Spiderman and the Joker and all the avengers after the success of “Avengers: Endgame,” just about everyone from the Marvel universe is trending this year. 

Supernatural costumes like ghosts, vampires, and witches have always been popular when it comes to Halloween night. Kids almost always love mystery- it draws them in. Whether they have watched shows on them, or just always loved the thought of something else- something no one knows about.

People have different interests. Teenagers and adults may or may not dress up for Halloween depending on the type of person they are. Some might like to dress up others would rather stay home. Halloween might be a little different for adults and teenagers than kids but that doesn’t mean they still can’t dress up.

A popular costume this year has been characters from Strangers Things which first came out in July of 2016. The show has been increasing in popularity over the years and has had an overwhelming success. Their costumes are also number one on costume trends on Pinterest across ten states. Their most popular costumes are Eleven and the Demogorgon.

Another costume favorite this year has been decade costumes. The favorites of this year has been the 1980s being one of the most popular decades in pop culture. With the bright clothing and multiple layers it’s become one of the most popular decades to dress up for.

In addition, another costume that has been popular this year has been inflatables. From an alien costume inspired by Area 51 to dinosaurs. “We’ve seen the interest in alien costumes nearly double” says Hewitt-Smith from CNN. “We’re expecting to see a lot of alien costumes used for joke type costumes related to the raid this fall.” This costume has been growing to one of the most loved costumes to wear.

Costumes that have been popular this year have also been creepy Halloween costumes. Annabelle and Pennywise are two of the most popular Halloween costumes this year. These two have also come out with movies this year; Annabelle Comes Home came out on June 26th 2019 and IT Chapter Two came out on September 6th of 2019.

 Disney reboots have been happening a lot this year they have been coming out with many live-action Disney movies in the past few years. With all the movies coming out many people have been deciding to dress up as Disney characters. Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, Woody, Buzz, Jessie and mermaids have been searched up a lot this year for best costumes.

The last most popular costumes are inflatable costumes. The viral success of the inflatable T-Rex costume post-“Jurassic World” has pushed interest in inflatable costumes. There is a huge variety of inflatable costumes to choose from in 2019. 

Overall, the most popular costumes of 2019 are Princesses, Superheroes,Witches, Ghost, Vampires, the sisters Elsa and Anna from Frozen, and pirates. Characters from Strangers Things, decade costumes, creepy horror movie characters, characters from Disney, heroes and villains, and inflatable costumes are also most popular this year.
