Oakmont Television Mr. Secino  Want to write, produce, direct, and deliver the news on Oakmont’s cable network? Join OTV!

Meets every morning in the studio at Oakmont. 

Open to all students “You get to work in a studio setting, and learn different things about TV production. It’s really fun and I’ve made a lot of friends through OTV!” -Kasey Murdoch
Peer Leaders Mrs. Archangelo Members help to promote a positive environment in school and specialize in community service.  Highly selective membership. Students must go through an application process in the fall.  “Peer leaders is a great way to get involved in your community through different services” -Sophia Leblanc
Political Discussions Club  Mr. Uminski and Mr. Ethier  Students meet to discuss current local, state, national and international politics. Gain a better sense of understanding politics. All opinions are welcome! Open to all students “We live in a society that is so divided politically, it is important to understand  what is going on in Washington. Political Discussion group is a great place to learn how politicians can and will affect your life going forward,” – Mr. Ethier
Robotics Team  Mr. Secino Members work to build a robot that performs specific tasks. The team will  compete in the regional competition in the spring. Required of students in the Engineering Design Course. “It’s an exciting way to get hands on experience with robots, programming, and problem solving. Besides, who else is going to defend us against the robot uprising!” -Mr. Secino
SADD- Students Against Destructive Decisions Mr. Dewhurst Students sponsor blood drives and assembles, along with working on alcohol and drug awareness campaigns in school. Open to all students “Not a huge commitment, and a great way to get informed” -Sierra Rasmuson
Student Advisory Council Mr. Uminski  Academic programs, budget, and school policies are represented by student advisors. Appointed by administration based on application process “The Student Advisory Council is an extremely important leadership organization in the school. They represent the student body to the school committee and the school’s administration.  The students have a direct impact on changes to the student handbook and other decisions made about the operation of our school.” -Mr. Uminski

 

Select Choir Mr. Demoura A select group of vocalists perform in school concerts. Students must audition. “A welcoming group to sing fun broadway chants. A great addition to your college resume.” -Choir students 
Student Council Mr. Dufour The Student Council is a great representation of students at Oakmont. They sponsor and help multiple events, Students must run for a position and be elected by classmates. “StuCo is a great way to get involved in Oakmont and gain a sense of productivity with the school and with teamwork”-Fiona Glover
Spring Musical  Mr. Aubuchon Students get to help produce and perform a play.  Open to all students. Tryouts are usually in December or January  “A good place to make friends, it’s very inclusive, it’s something fun to do after school, and it’s not your typical drama club. There’s no divas.” -Carson Stiles and James Maloney
Table Tennis Club Mr. Kostich Meet after school to play table tennis and get to play with peers.  Open to all students “Table tennis club is a great way to hang out with your friends and experience friendly competition” -Connor Roering
Yearbook Club  Mr. Szalay Help design, plan, promote, and take photos for the yearbook.  Open to all students “A product that includes everybody in the school, all major events, all clubs.” -Mr.Szalay
Youth Venture Mr. Aubuchon Students help make a change in our society by solving issues they face through activating teamwork and leadership.  Open to all students Spartan Center- “Gives me opportunity to get involved and improves school spirit” -Meghan Hastings
Creative Writing Club Mrs. Morin Students get to express emotions and creativity through writing.  Open to all students “A dedicated time and space to work on a passion” -Mrs. Morin
Anime Club  Mr. Kostich Students get to enjoy and watch different Anime films.  Open to all students “It’s welcoming club full of students who want to share their interest in Anime and Japanese culture.” -Mr. Kostich 
Chess Club Ms. Gates Students get to play chess with their friends, and gain knowledge of chess.  Open to all students “Chess club is pretty epic, it’s pretty casual, you just hangout, eat snacks, and play chess.” -Tucker Rodgers
Marching Band Mr. Demoura Students perform throughout the year at different events.  Students must audition, and attend summer band camp.  “It’s like a second family” -Ryan Maloney
French Honor Society Mrs. Therrien Recognizes students who excel in French.  Induction takes place in September or October each year “Not a huge commitment, it’s fun to be apart of something and bond with Mrs. Therrien. We run exciting things like the bake sale.” -Mady Aubin
National Honor Society Mrs. Stefanakos NHS is a national organization which honors and recognizes students for outstanding achievements.  Eligible students only.  “The National Honor Society is more than having good grades. It represents strength, leadership, and good character.” -Mrs. Stefanakos
Oakmonitor Newspaper Mr. Nevard Write about school events, or ideas that interest you.  Open to all students “This is a place where students can express their opinions freely.” -Brandon Hoegen 
OEA Mrs. Archangelo Members participate in activities that make our school and community more earth friendly.  Open to all students “Join OEA to help save the planet through education, awareness, and service.” -Mrs. Archangelo
Friends Club Mrs. Smeltekop Members both with and without disabilities join together for school activities, and social events. Open to all students “Friends club makes you feel welcome, and the events that we put on are very fun. It’s a great way to meet new people!” -Caroline Albert
