The ongoing debate is whether or not buying the more expensive product is better quality, or if it’s just the brand name. A hot topic recently in the cosmetic industry is the “dupes”, or cheaper alternatives for expensive name-brand products. Here’s a list of the top 3 “dupes” with the most popular reviews, and highest quality for a lower price.
1.) Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter vs E.L.F. Halo Glow
These two products are super similar to each other in the sense that they are both lightweight foundations that leave a glowy and poreless finish. The Flawless Filter is priced at $50.00 and the E.L.F. Halo Glow is $14.00. With the 36-dollar gap between the two products, their quality is honestly pretty similar.
The Halo Glow does come off a little more oily but there’s barely a difference between the two. I would have to say that for these two products, the E.L.F. Halo Glow would be the better choice, and it is the name brand making the Charlotte Tilbury more expensive, not the quality of the product.
2.) Drunk Elephant Bronzing Drops vs Loreal Glotion
These next two products are another hot topic on social media that people have been constantly giving their feedback on. The Drunk Elephant Bronzing Drops are around 40 dollars and the Loreal Glotion is 15 dollars. These two products are super similar and both leave your skin with a tan, glowy feeling.
The Drunk Elephant drops come in a smaller-sized container with a more pigmented color, while the L’oreal has a more moisturizing tint with less pigment but half the price. These products are both great choices but it all depends on what you want. For more pigment; the Drunk Elephant drops would be better, but for the moisturizing and more affordable option the L’oreal is the way to go.
3.) Rare Beauty Blush vs Camo Liquid Blush
The Rare Beauty Blush is a super popular product that has been sold out throughout the holiday season. The brand, color selection, and quality of their products are all super convincing factors as to why people are going crazy over it. I’ve tried it, and I think it is very pigmented; however, it’s a very thick blush that does feel cakey. The Rare Beauty Blush is around 25 dollars and the E.L.F. Camo Liquid Blush is 7 dollars. Overall the Rare Beauty Blush has more color options to pick from and gives you a more natural look but the E.L.F. product almost can achieve the same results. If anything the blush created by E.L.F. might not last as long throughout the day, but if you are trying to save money this is another great dupe like the rest.
These products are all super similar and cheaper alternatives to your higher-end products. These are the most popular dupes that are trending on social media, along with many others!
