Pointless
Maryl Hooper
Alone together
Once again.
Quiet as the dark, gloomy room they were in.
Polar opposites as everyone could see
“They don’t belong together,” said all of their peers
It was quite obvious that
They knew that as well.
Together their bodies twist
But minds and feelings don’t mix
No brain was home.
No feelings were there.
Maybe that was a part of the problem
Everyone said they were messy
And complicated.
But what does that mean?
Maybe it was because they were tired of each other
Yet couldn’t be without.
Maybe it was because their bodies were attached
But the soul wasn’t.
She was fragile and scared of abandonment.
He was careless and reckless,
Wanting no sort of a commitment.
That was just another “responsibility” for him.
Trying to figure him out was like breaking a code.
No progress was happening.
Since the start of a long
Pointless Mistake.
