Today, I interviewed some of freshmen on the MCAS they had to take for biology. Here’s what they thought:
- “I thought the MCAS was honestly pretty easy this time around. The first time I failed and I thought it was really hard, but I hated taking it, it was just easier this time around.”
- “I thought the Bio MCAS was easy but rigged because I didn’t understand the gas question.”
- “I thought the Bio MCAS was stupid.”
- “I thought it was easy and think I did okay.”
- “I thought that the MCAS was kinda easy but I don’t think I did good.”
- “I don’t like taking MCAS because it doesn’t have any impact on our education. If it would help improve our curriculum or teaching methods, I would be more willing to take it.”
- “I never really liked MCAS and I don’t understand why we have to do it but it was pretty difficult. Although it was hard, I think I passed.”
