Autumn- what is it? It’s the season that you either love or hate. You could hate it because of school or love it because of the beautiful weather. Autumn is when the days get shorter and the trees prepare for winter. Americans love it for being the spookiest season.
CBS News did a short story on which season was liked the most and according to Valuepenguin they asked 1,600 Americans in Minneapolis and 45% said that autumn was their favorite. Summer came in second with 24%.
Autumn starts September 22, 2024, it’s the best time to do fun activities such as carving pumpkins, apple picking, pumpkin picking, eating pie, and the most loved of all is Halloween.
Over 70% of people in the U.S. plan to participate in the spookiest holiday- Halloween. The other 30% don’t celebrate this holiday. Around the world, people celebrate Halloween on October 31. People dress up in costumes and go door to door asking for candy.
People love the holiday for its scary and horror events, such as haunted houses, frightening costumes, scary trails, and even horror movies. Once the night is over, people will go home with friends and family to eat the candy they got.
Thanksgiving is another holiday we have in autumn. It’s one of the most overlooked holidays mainly because it’s between Halloween and Christmas.
Thanksgiving is still a good holiday even though people forget about it sometimes. You can spend time with the ones you love, eat good food and have pie! There are many flavors of pie like pumpkin, apple, blueberry, chocolate cream pie, and much more.
Fall Festivals are loved for events such as corn mazes, apple bobbing, pie-eating contests, and many more fun games. There are many fall festivals near Oakmont such as, “The Fabulous Fall Festival” in Gardner, “Pepperell Fall Festival” in Pepperell, and “Fall Festival 2024” in Fitchburg.
Autumn is known for its weather, holidays, and the color changes in the trees. It’s also known for its delicious drinks, so stop by a Dunkin or any coffee shop for a good drink this fall.
