As week one of the NFL wraps up so does the first week on Fantasy. This week you may have been given lots of hope and within that same hour watch all that hope we once had fade away. Or you thought all was lost until that one player came to save the day.
Roy’s Recap:
This week sitting Keenen Allen couldn’t have been a better pick. The Bears offense struggled all day long racking up 148 yards of total offense and no offensive touchdowns, but their strong defensive performance ended up winning them the game. Allen ended this game with 4 receptions and 29 yards earning him a lackluster 6.9 fantasy points. Allen fantasy owners should not panic though, it’s only week one and Williams is going to need time to adjust to these speedy NFL defenses. However, until that time comes starting Allen is going to be a huge gamble you should avoid taking.
Starting Drake London this week was an awful pick. This week he was only targeted 3 times bringing in 2 of them for 15 yards. In a 18-10 loss against the Steelers this was a very interesting game for the Falcons to say the least. Kirk was ok with the check down; he took it early and often seeming that he was almost afraid to sling the ball out to his big play makers in Darnell Mooney and London. Although it wasn’t all Cousins’ fault the strong defense of Steelers corner Joey Porter Jr was making it very difficult for the Falcons wideouts. However, it is week one and Cousins may still be adjusting to this new system and building faith in his guys which will take him a while. This Falcons offense did show hopeful flashes at points, but until Cousins settles into this offense you should try to avoid Falcons wideouts.
Nap’s Recap:
This week Oakmont Business/Finance teacher Owen Napolitano couldn’t have been more on the button with his picks. His first pick of the week consisted of sitting Zay Flowers. Flower’s was targeted 10 times throughout the game but was only able to bring in 6 receptions for 37 yards, he also tacked on 2 rushes for 11 yards earning 11.1 points. For this young star this is an underperformance, as Napolitano predicted he was being smothered all game by the Chiefs defense making it a point to not let him or running back Derrick Henry get going stifling this very strong Ravens offense.
His second pick was to start Jayden Daniels and he had himself an amazing week. Although they struggled to piece together a passing game the Commanders run game was solid. They were unable to take down Tampa Bay with a score of 37-20, however Daniels and the commanders put up 20 against this strong Bucs defense. Daniels threw 24 times completing 17 of those attempts and going for 178 yards. On top of that Daniels rushed for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns earning himself an astonishing 28 points soaring over his week one prediction and showing great potential of what he is able to do in the NFL.
