And just like that another week of exciting football is over. This week ended with some amazing overtime, time expiring kicks, and game sealing plays. However, hopefully for all fantasy managers this was an up week as you’re starting to feel out your players a little more.
Roy’s Recap:
This week we saw Malik Nabers show out on every offensive possession. The young rookie balled out this week against the Commanders reeling in 8 receptions for 127 yards and adding on a touchdown. In a loss against the Commanders the rookie showed why he is so trusted by this Giants front office. Although he did receive 18 targets which is a good thing, that means he wasn’t able to pull in almost half of the balls thrown his way. Which were not all catchable but still something you might need to worry about going into future weeks.
DK Metcalf really proved me wrong this week. The Seahawks shied away from the run this week with running back Kenneth Walker III being hurt and the strong Patriots interior. This week Geno Smith showed why he is still a great option throwing for 327 yards tearing up this Patriot secondary. The combination of Metcalf and Jaxson Smith-Njiba absolutely torched the Patriots secondary. Metcalf alone had 10 receptions for 129 yards which is already an insane statline. Then he added a touchdown on top of it, really putting the cherry on top of an already amazing performance and overtime win.
Billings’s Picks:
This week Mr. Billings was so adamant about Jordan Mason having an amazing week and he couldn’t have been more right. Although the 49ers lost this week to the Vikings Mason was doing whatever he wanted when he touched the ball going for over 100 yards on 20 carries and tacking on a touchdown. He wasn’t able to add much value to the passing game which can make him a fantasy liability, but this is the second game in a row he’s rushed for 100+ yards and I don’t see him slowing down anytime soon. He’s been so dominant and now with McCaffery on IR there’s no reason he should be coming out of your lineup.
This week Billings was correct about those Packer wideouts as well. They were all liabilities this week with no Jordan Love. All Packers receivers earned under 12 fantasy points with the only one cracking 10 was Dontayvion Wicks because he was able to come down with Malik Willis’s first career touchdown pass. Willis also only threw the ball 15 times showing that the Packers front office doesn’t have a ton of faith in the young quarterback and honestly I just don’t see his passing numbers improving at all. Keeping Packers wideouts on the bench until Love is back is the safest and smartest option for all fantasy managers.
