Does Burger King Meat its standards to be a contender with McDonald’s ?
There are many different fast food debates around the world, but there’s none bigger than Mcdonald’s and their Big Mac burger and Burger King’s Whopper. Who has the better burger? Let’s take a deeper look at these fast-food restaurants.
McDonald’s and Burger King started in the franchise food business in 1954-1955. Now, McDonald’s has always been a larger company, but each company has influenced the other throughout their six-decade rivalry.
The Whopper and the Big Mac are the best two-selling burgers ever. Burger King made 1.7 billion Whopper sales per year in 2002, while McDonald’s reached the same in 2017.
Many people ask each other and wonder who has the better burger. Well, that answer might be easy for everyone: McDonalds and their Big Mac burger.
According to Investopedia, McDonald’s has the highest market capitalization of any fast-food restaurant chain in the U.S. at more than $168 BIllion in October 2020. It has 36,000 franchises in nearly 120 countries, employs 1.9 million people, and serves over 70 million meals daily.
McDonald’s Burgers
McDonald’s was founded in 1940 and is known for its consistency, savory flavors and it’s classic menu items. The Big Mac is one of its most fantastic meals, which is two burgers, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, and special sauce (Mac sauce), all sandwiched between a sesame seed bun. This burger has become a hit in the fast food industry, known for its flavorful taste.
McDonald’s is also known for its taste and the quality of their burgers because it’s so strong and has an ever-lasting taste. Consistency is the number one reason why many people appreciate McDonald’s because many people around the world know what they’re going to get.
Burger King’s Burgers
Founded in 1954, Burger King has a different approach with its grilled cooking technique. This technique gives their burgers a flavor that sets them apart from other fast-food restaurants. The Whopper is a perfect example. It has a flame-grilled burger patty, topped off with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, mayonnaise, and ketchup, all mixed in a sesame seed bun.
Burger King’s grilled technique creates a flavor many people might like that can be ever-lasting. The grill adds a smoky taste, making the burger as flavorful as it can be.
Portion Size: Portion size may be a major problem because customers want to have a meal that’s worth paying for which can be a reason why some people may choose Burger King over McDonald’s. McDonald’s is known for its value menu, which shows a range of affordable options. Portion sizes are generally smaller compared to Burger King, which tends to offer larger patties. Burger King’s larger burgers might be better for people looking for a bigger meal, but McDonald’s value menu can be a better choice for those looking to save a bit of money.
Here is a chart to show, out of the 100 people, who has the better burger? Here are the results:
As you can see 80 out of the 100 people I have asked selected McDonald’s and 20 out of the 100 people have selected Burger King. Even though people may say McDonald’s is better than Burger King it will remain a debate throughout the years.
