On Friday, September 27th, Oakmont held its annual Homecoming Pep Rally. The student council and adviser, Mr. Dufour, hosted the event, which featured the Marching Band, games, and the Football team’s perfect play!
The Marching Spartans kicked off the afternoon with a standstill performance of their field show, War of the Worlds. The show spotlights soloists Kaden Aubin on Guitar, Karl Sargent on Trumpet, and AJ Lasorsa on Baritone, as well as a trio featuring Sargent on Trumpet, Lasorsa on Baritone, and Kaitlyn Renda on Mellophone. Senior guard soloist Sarah Smith won the crowd with her dance, rifle, and sabre skills.
After the band’s performance, Stuco brought the hype, sending T-shirts flying into the crowd before announcing the next activity. A student vs. teacher relay race! The class president from each grade was paired with a teacher and competed in a series of obstacles. Jordan Krawczyk won for the senior class!
To wrap up the pep rally, the star football team showed off their winning play for the night’s Homecoming game. The ball was passed to Junior David Roy, who scored a touchdown leaving the gym cheering.
Finally, students were dismissed, all leaving with excitement for the night’s Homecoming game, and the festivities planned for the week.
