There’s nothing like the long bus ride to school every morning. A half an hour of peace just looking out the window as you pass by the world. It’s dark and hazy at this time of day, perfect for deep thoughts. The world is still asleep; it could never be as peaceful as it is now.
Everything is still, and the sound of the moving bus soothes your tired mind. It allows you to become immersed in your thoughts and lose track of time. As the bus rolls down the winding roads, your worries drift away. With no stress, your mind can rest and take a much-needed break.
Your favorite songs are playing in your ears, adding to your happiness. The noise-cancellation feature on your Airpods blocks out the outside world and keeps the peace. The voices of the others on the bus are distant, and the sounds of the bus moving are reduced to only a faint rumble. You raise the volume of the music as more and more people board the bus.
The bus fills up slowly and you realize you are just a few moments away from stepping off the bus and into the school. To savor these precious minutes, you turn on one final song. The song fades away and the bus creeps into the school driveway. You slowly take out your Airpods, hesitant to face the world again.
The thoughts in your head start to come back as you trudge down the aisle of the bus and the steps. When you hop off the final step and onto the sidewalk, you feel somber. Reluctant to leave your peaceful bus ride behind, you walk as slowly as possible to the front doors of the school. There is only one thing keeping you on your path to the doors: knowing that you can relive the bus ride again tomorrow.
