On Monday, October 15th, Coach Timothy Caouette accompanied Oakmont seniors Tommy Prendergast and Max Doane to the Taconic Golf Club. While recapping yesterday’s events, Caouette states, “Tommy Prendergast shot a +9 over par 80 yesterday at Taconic Golf Club to qualify for the State Championship to be held on Monday, October 21st. Taconic, established in 1896, is one of the oldest public courses in Massachusetts. It is currently rated as the 2nd best collegiate (NCAA) golf course in the country. Tommy’s score was good enough to finish in a tie for 7th place in all of Division West. On a very cold and windy day, there was only 1 score of even par 71, one score of 1 over 72, and one score of 77 coming in before Tommy. Fellow senior Max Doane had an impressive showing as well, shooting a +10, 81, to tie for 8th place and to miss the State Championship qualifying by a single stroke.”
