On Saturday, November 2nd, The Oakmont Overlook Marching Spartans hosted the 2nd ever Invitational on the Arthur I. Hurd Memorial field. Bands from around the area were asked to come to perform their field show for the overflowing stands of supporters. The event featured the Fitchburg High School Red Raiders, the Leominster Marching Blue Devils, the Ayer-Shirley Marching Panthers, the Gardner Wildcat Marching Band, and of course the Oakmont Overlook Marching Spartans.
The show started with all the bands coming together and performing the Star Spangled Banner and soon after the show began. The first band was the Gardner Wildcat Marching Band, performing selections from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights”. The next band was the Fitchburg High School Red Raiders performing their show, The Blacksmith. Then the Ayer-Shirley Marching Panthers performed their field show, The Tell-Tale Heart. The 2nd to last band to perform was the Leominster Marching Blue Devils performing their show, Ghost Investigation. The last band was the Oakmont Overlook Marching Spartans performing their show, War of the Worlds.
It was once again a very successful day and good job to everyone who performed!
