On a crisp autumn day when leaves start to fall,
A stadium of college football fans becomes out of control.
They have been up since the crack of dawn, and are starting to become manic,
But the walk to the stadium full of fans is magnetic.
With anticipation rushing through their veins,
The fans are the ones who make the game.
The rivalries are fierce, like fire and ice,
With every play, emotions entice.
From Iron Bowl’s clash to Michigan vs. Ohio,
You will never see this much enthusiasm from a frat bro.
Attendees and Alumni unite behind their teams,
Their faces decked out in paint begin to beam.
If your team wins we will see,
All I have to say is Go Army Beat Navy!
Traditions plentiful-good fun and cheers,
The smell of food from tailgates draws fans near.
The Marching band plays as the crowds sing with pride,
In the magic-like stadium where memories abide.
As the game becomes tough and the fans begin to feel dread,
The marching band plays a tune and the crowd is no longer dead.
Virginia Tech’s fight song “Enter Sandman” always calls for a good time,
But Delta Dawn will outdo it every time.
From chants like “Roll Tide” to “We Are,”
You will hear fans saying them, even from afar.
Famous traditions like Clemson’s Howard’s Rock,
Is cooler than anything tried by their rivals the USC Gamecocks (Yuck).
As the night begins to come to an end and your team has won,
The long day was worth it and all in good fun.
After spending all day arguing with fans from the other team,
Your team won so you get the sweet dreams.
The halftime show was amazing, the music and flags,
Now you get to go to all of your friends and brag.
I can’t tell you how they fumbled that one play,
But I can tell you there is nothing quite like game day.
