Living in the small towns of Ashburnham and Westminster, you most likely have the common occurrence of saying, “There’s nothing to do!” Most appealing shops and activities are at least a 30-minute drive away…or so you thought.
Creative Connections- Located on 56 Main Street in Ashburnham, MA, Creative Connections is a lovely, locally owned gift shop and gallery. In 2016, a husband and wife duo launched their eclectic shop to the public. With a wide variety of knick-knacks, clothing, decor, artwork, and more, this shop is the perfect stop to find a gift this upcoming holiday season!
Victoria Coffee- Who doesn’t enjoy stopping at their local coffee shop to grab a morning pick-me-up? If you live in Westminster then you’re in luck! Victoria’s Coffee, on 134 Main St, Westminster, MA, is one of my favorites. Their menu spans all sorts of coffees and teas to delicious baked goods. More recently, they’ve added breakfast sandwiches. I personally recommend the iced chai latte. This cozy cafe also offers bags of coffee beans if you’d prefer to enjoy the tastiness from the comfort of your own home. Victoria’s Coffee exhibits a welcoming and rustic atmosphere, providing indoor and outdoor seating. Give this place a try!
Erickson Silver Shop- Erickson Silver Shop is a locally owned, crafted sterling silver shop in Gardner, MA. They’re notorious for their engraved, initial jewelry — specifically oval-shaped rings. Flatware and other jewelry pieces are also sold here! Erickson Silver Shop items have been described to be, “instantly heirlooms.” Peter Erickson is the current silversmith who owns the business, although the family business dates back to 1901. Everything Peter knows about the silversmith industry has been handed down to him by his grandfather. Stop by this holiday season to pick up a timeless gift that is perfect for anyone in your life!
Wachusett Mountains’s summit- Gazing out at the scenic view of the New England trees as the sun sets into a beautiful array of colors. What sounds better than that? At Wachusett Mountain’s Summit, you can experience this stunning sight. You can either hike up the 2006-foot mountain or take the drive up. Once you reach the top, there’s an observation tower perfect for taking in the full view.
