As the NFL regular season comes to an end, the last game of the year is a crucial one for both of these teams. Both teams have had a historic season with having one of their best records ever. Being in the same division makes this game even better. The Vikings and Lions have the most hyped and crucial game of the year. Battle for the one seed and battle for the division, with this being a big game Niko Lussier and Jayden Brostrom look at both of these teams’ chances at winning.
The Vikings in my opinion will not beat the Lions, the main reason is that this Lions offense is too good to be stopped with the multiple amount of trick plays they have and having the best o-line in the NFL. The Lion’s defense on the other hand has taken several hits due to injury. As of late, the Lions have 13 players on injury reserve who are on the defense, including star edge rusher Aiden Hutchinson and David Montgomery with a Knee injury. So they won’t have their iconic running back duo anymore. As for the receiving core Amon Ra St-Brown,Jameson Williams, and Sam LaPorta this receiving core will be something hard to beat. The Lions are a tricky team to beat since they will go on 4th down and those trick plays itll be hard to predict what play they will run.
With the Lions’ defense in shambles and the Vikings’ offense stronger than it’s been since the Randy Moss era, this Minnesota team is looking very good coming into this week’s night game. Sam Darnold is one of the best overall quarterbacks in the league with one of the highest passer ratings and completion percentage. It does help to have the best pass catcher in the league, Justin Jefferson, along with two other weapons (Jordan Addison and Jalen Nailor). The Viking’s defense is going to be another huge factor in this game. Andrew VanGinkel and Joshua Metellus have had incredible seasons so far and are only looking stronger. With some of the Lion’s best players out, and the Vikings playing like they have never played before, this should be one of the best games of the season no matter the outcome
