The origins behind the names and our thoughts on them:

Olivia is a Latin name that means olive tree. We think it’s a beautiful name with a nice meaning but is pretty basic and common.
Amelia is Latin for work. We think it’s a pretty fire name, but the meaning is a little awkward.
Emma is German and means “whole” or “universe.” We believe it’s a pretty popular name, but its meaning is unique.
Noah comes from a biblical figure and it means comfort we believe that Noah is a common name in our generation but the meaning behind it is cute.
Liam is Irish and it means helmet of will or protection
Oliver is Latin and it means olive tree planter. We like the name a lot but we also think we have heard it more as a pet name. The meaning of the name is also basically the same as ‘Olivia.’
The name Kia originates back to the Hawian language and it means ocean
Rowen is Irish and it means little “red one” but it symbolizes passion and courage like the color red. We think the name and meaning are both unique while most of the other names listed were pretty common.

Amelia Garlock is part of the Class of 2026 at Oakmont Regional High School. This is her first year being part of The Oakmonitor. She plays soccer in the fall as well as runs the 200 meter and throws javelin during track season in the spring. Her favorite seasons are autumn and summer. In her free time she enjoys swimming in the summer, going to amusement parks, and skiing during the winter. She is excited to be a contributing member of The Oakmonitor.

Mia Petersen is part of the Class of 2026 at Oakmont Regional High School. This is her first year being a part of the Oakmonitor. In her free time, she loves to go camping,go to the gym, hangout with friends and play with her dog. In the summer Mia loves to go on walks, late night drives, and swim. She also likes to cook, bake, go fishing and go shopping. She is excited to be apart of the Oakmonitor and write more stuff.
