Lamar Jackson was the front-runner for MVP, but lost! Why?
Lamar Jackson has had an incredible season, leading the league in yards per pass and yards per run for quarterbacks. He is also the all-time leader in quarterback rushing yards. Although the Baltimore Ravens have had trouble in the playoffs, The statistics show that he was the front-runner. But people believed that Josh Allen had been robbed in previous years. Stats wise, Lamar should have won by a good amount. But that’s not all that counts, According to sports.yahoo.com Allen had 27 votes, While Jackson had 23.
Patrick Mahomes was favored to win his fourth Super Bowl MVP, Jalen Hurts took the crown.
Why?
According to statmuse.com, in 2020 vs the 49ers he had 2 touchdowns, 286 yards with a 61.9% completion rate. Also, in 2023 Vs the Eagles he had 3 touchdowns, 182 yards with a 77.8% completion rate. The following year, against once again the 49ers he had 2 touchdowns, 333 yards with a 73.9% completion rate. Mahomes has won Super bowl MVP 3 out of his last 4 times being in the Super Bowl. Jalen hurts on the other hand before the game on Sunday, only having been in the Super Bowl once. Jalen was looking to get his revenge and he got it. Winning the Super Bowl by a blowout and taking the MVP on top of that.
Saquon could’ve been a contender for Super Bowl MVP
How?
The Eagles running back has had a great season this year being the only running back to be a contender for MVP (the rest being quarterbacks). The Eagles pulled off an underdog win and Barkley was a huge impact on that. Saquon has been the clear leader for the Eagles, Putting up insane numbers the past few playoff games for them. According to espn.com, in the wildcard game, vs the Packers, Saquon had 25 carries, and 119 rushing yards. The next game in the Divisional round, vs the Rams, he had 26 carries, 205 yards with 2 touchdowns. Then in the NFC championship, against the Washington Commanders, Saquon had 15 carries, 118 yards with 3 touchdowns. Throughout all of those games he did not fumble once. Personally, I think he could have had a chance but he did not perform his best in the Superbowl.
This year’s Super Bowl halftime performance will definitely go down in history
This year’s halftime performance was like no other. The NFL had Kendrick Lamar, who has won an uncountable amount of awards in his career. Including 20 Grammys alone. They also had SZA, who has also won many, many awards, including 5 Grammys alone. This year was a lot different than other years because of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef. Who knew what Kendrick was going to do? Kendrick decided to play his songs or diss tracks during halftime and shocked everybody. I am sure there were a lot of people that were wondering what he would do. That’s why it was so different from every other half time performance. The first time someone has called out another person/artist at the halftime show. It was also very interesting with Kendrick calling out Drake, due to SZA having a very popular song with Drake.
Josh Allen Vs Lamar Jackson
These two incredible quarterbacks have been going at it for quite some time now. Whether that be in the MVP Race or winning the Divisional round to make it to the AFC championship. Even though Allen has had more luck in the playoffs than Jackson, Jackson has won 2 MVPs, While Allen not having any luck in that race. This year is different though, With Josh Allen taking the MVP home.
