I lived just about 10 years in New York City, so I never got to experience city life as a teen, but growing up there was a great experience for me. It was fun always going on the subway, going to Times Square almost every weekend, or just walking to the supermarket because of how close it was.
Moving to a small town here in Massachusetts was a weird change. I was born here, and we would come here to visit family but living here was just different. I moved to Massachusetts in the summer of 2019 so it was pretty fun being able to hang out with my cousins every day and have campfires, I never had campfires growing up because I lived in an apartment back in New York so being able to toast marshmallows by a fire in a backyard was amazing to me.

For a while, I lived in Fitchburg and went to Leominster schools which was cool. It was a pretty big school so it reminded me of my old school back in New York, but when I moved here to Oakmont it was different.
Oakmont’s a pretty small school and everyone knew each other mostly because everyone had grown up with each other. It didn’t take long for me to adjust because most people were welcoming and kind, but it was unusual to me how almost everyone had a childhood friend or someone they had known for quite some time. I moved schools a couple of times so I don’t really have a childhood friend mostly because I don’t talk to them anymore or I still do but not as much as I used to.
A lot of people always ask, why did you move to Massachusetts? It was mainly because of family and the fact that Massachusetts is a more open field. I do miss living there and being able to go to fun places but I like finally living in a house and not having to hear planes fly by over our apartment at night,(we lived near an airport) or taking hours to find parking near our home. So am I upset about moving yes and no, Would I ever move back.
maybe.
