As the weather warms up and we approach spring, there will be lots of fun activities to take part in.
The average springtime weather in Boston ranges from the thirties to sixties, according to the U.S. News Travel. This nice weather allows people in Boston to do more outdoor activities, including going to the Franklin Park Zoo, going to the Boston Public Gardens, and going on a Swan Boat Tour.
The Franklin Park Zoo is free to Massachusetts school groups grades K-12, according to Zoo New England. If you are not with a school group, ages 0-1 get in free, 2-12 get in for $15.95, adults get in for $22.95, and 62 years and older get in for $20.95. There are many different animals at this zoo, including crocodiles, cows, owls, and turtles.
“The Boston Public Garden is a large park in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, adjacent to Boston Common,” according to Wikipedia. There are many different flower plantings in the garden, including roses, bulbs, and flowering shrubs. There are also many different famous statues, including the equestrian statue of George Washington and The Ether Monument.
“The Swan Boats are a fleet of pontoon boats which operate in a pond in the Public Garden in Boston” according to Wikipedia. The boat ride is around ten to fifteen minutes and costs $4.50. As stated by Swan Boats, the rides start operating the second weekend of April and end Labor Day weekend in September.
USA Today says, “The outlook for spring predicts warmer temperatures throughout the South and East Coast and colder temperatures in the Northwest.”
If you want to travel outside of Boston, there are many other interesting places to visit, for example, Central Park in New York City, Diana’s bath in New Hampshire, and the Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens in Connecticut.
Central Park is an “Urban park between the Upper West Side and Upper East side neighborhoods of Manhattan in New York City,” according to Wikipedia. Central Park has horse and carriage tours and a beautiful landscape.
“Average Temperatures in New York City in spring ranges from 55 degrees to 70 degrees,” New York Welcome states. JennaJuby says the spring weather starts blooming in late April and early May.
Diana’s Bath is “A series of small waterfalls located in the southeastern corner of the town of Bartlett, New Hampshire,” according to Wikipedia. A day fee costs $5.00.
Based on research from WeatherSpark, “New Hampshire’s Daily high temperatures increase by 34 degrees Fahrenheit in the spring, going from 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 73 degrees Fahrenheit.”
The Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens in Connecticut contains 93 acres of parkland, gardens, landscapes, and hiking trails, as well as free admission for all.
According to Wanderlog, “the average temperature in Connecticut in April ranges from a high of 57 degrees Fahrenheit to a low of 37 degrees Fahrenheit.” It normally starts warming up in Connecticut towards the end of May.
