Head Coach Jess Woodworth says…
- This is the largest number of athletes in our program in many years. We have about 110 athletes combining both teams. We have a great balance of seasoned track athletes as well as many new faces who should perform very well.
- Goals: The goal for the boys team is to be league champions, and Division 5 State champions or state runner-ups. The goal for the girls team is to beat Hudson and Quabbin in duel meets and have as many top finishers in the league meet as possible. The 4×800 team is looking to win the state meet as well.
3. Meet meets: For girls, our biggest meets will be Hudson and Quabbin, they are very evenly matched and we are hoping to pull off the win in both. For the boys, our biggest meet will be Hudson. We are in a battle for league champions against them this year.
Junior Vaulter/Hurdler Mikaela Groncki adds.. I think the girls outdoor track team is going to be great this year. We have the numbers to have people in all events and get the points we lacked last year. I am really excited for this season because we are also a very close team. Everyone supports everyone and it’s just a great environment to play the sport you love!
Senior Runner/Jumper Danielle Amoah explains… I’m excited for this upcoming season because both the girls and the boys teams have had an amazing turnout! We’re now able to fill the field in every event which we couldn’t have possibly done in the past years and that’s the key to winning meets
