Head Coach Katrina Bunting says…

1. Team positives – We have a powerful couple of captains (Danika Quinn and Ali Hazel) and they are great leaders for our very young team. The benefit of having so many young players (12 of our 16 are in grades 9/10) is that they will stay together to play for the next couple of years.

2. Goals – We would like to see the “softball IQ” (knowledge of the game) improve. We are hoping for a postseason bid with either placing in the top 32 of the division or finishing our regular season with at least a .500 record.

3. Big games—Tyngsborough and Littleton will be the big league games for us, as they always have strong teams. For out-of-league play, we are looking forward to facing Fitchburg and Narragansett.

Senior Danika Quinn and Ali Hazel’s thoughts… We are very excited about this season; we’re looking forward to growing closer with the girls on and off the field. We are ready to fight in every single game. We have a lot of speed on this team, which will help us tremendously on both offense and defense. We also have very experienced returning players to help guide and lead the team.

Mikey Belcher, Reporter

Mikey Belcher is a part of the Class of 2028 at Oakmont Regional High School. This is his first year being a part of The Oakmonitor. In the spring he participates in varsity lacrosse and attends as many sports games as he can throughout the year. Over the summer he play’s club lacrosse for 7 hills. When he can get free time, Mikey enjoys going to Maine with family, listening to music and driving with his cousin in his car, playing ball at the courts with my friends, playing fortnite, or taking a nap. He enjoys spending time with his family, having party’s, and hanging out with all of my friends. He is thrilled to contribute to The Oakmoniter this year.

Mark Nevard, Adviser

Mr. Mark Nevard has been The Oakmonitor staff adviser since 2012. Again this year, he is fortunate to work with a highly driven staff of experienced and newly joined writers and editors. Nevard enjoys teaching Sports Lit, and Creative Writing along with Journalism. If he is not editing an article, he is probably enjoying his family, filleting a fish, or routing on the Saints, Rangers, or Nittany Lions.
