On Thursday, May 1st, the French Honors Society held its annual induction ceremony to welcome and celebrate the inductees. French Honors Society is an invite-only organization that works to bring French culture to its community. By maintaining excellent grades in their French 1 and 2 classes, these 12 students were invited to be inducted if they chose to do so.
The night started with a “Bienvenue” (or welcome) from Principal Jeffery Lizzote and Madame Rachel Klein. Then the current members and inductees performed L’Hymne Nationale de La France, or the French National Anthem. After their performance was complete, speeches were given by SHF’s president, Georgia Duclous, Vice president, Maggie Hubbard, Publicists, Ash Nolan and Persephone Panageotes, and member, Josh LeGrand. Then the new members, as well as the current members, were inducted. The new members are:
Lauren Bagley
Bella Callahan
Tyler Careau
Finley Catlin
Jocelyn Cleaves
Aston Driggers
Emma Goodwin
Lucas Hill
Chloe Kruse
Justin Moores
Sydney Taylor
Logan Titus
After everyone was inducted, we all recited “La Promesse de La Société Honoraire de Français” or SHF’s Pledge. The night ended with some delicious crêpes. Congratulations to all the new members on their induction, and thank you for continuing to spread French culture within the community.
