Track & Field District E D1 Relay Meet

On Saturday, May 3rd the Oakmont Boys Track and Field team won the District E Division 1 Relay Meet.

The Boys scored a total of 88.33 points to win the meet, placing in 14 of the 16 Relay Events. Oakmont’s Long Jump Relay of Ryker Dionne, Jackson Traylor, and Jayden Brostrom took first place, as did their 4x800m Relay team of Brostrom, Sam Belcher, Chayse Parker, and Izaiah DeJesus. The Boys also had three second place finishes and two third place finishes.

The Girls Track and Field team also competed at the District E Division 1 Relay Meet placing 3rd of 13 teams scoring 70 points. The Girls placed in 12 of the 16 Relay Events. Winning the Javelin Relay was Molly Horgan, Kaighdance Garlisi, and Soph Campanale. The girls also had three second place finishes and three third place finishes.

Overall, Oakmont had a great meet with many Spartans achieving personal records and state qualifying standards.

Mikey Belcher is a part of the Class of 2028 at Oakmont Regional High School. This is his first year being a part of The Oakmonitor and have found a nich in writing sports stories, while also being in-charge of updating sports scores for the front page. In the spring he participates in varsity lacrosse and attends as many sports games as he can throughout the year. Over the summer he play’s club lacrosse for 7 hills. When he can get free time, Mikey enjoys going to Maine with family, listening to music and driving with his cousin in his car, playing ball at the courts with my friends, playing fortnite, or taking a nap. He enjoys spending time with his family, having party’s, and hanging out with all of my friends. He is thrilled to contribute to The Oakmoniter this year.
