Pure
Kelly Sandman
White paper lays on the desk
Unbothered, Untouched
In its purest form, with no colours in sight
It was a calming, but stressful white
A new beginning washed the paper
With yellows and blues gliding over the surface
When it washes back to its purest
An angel lays on the paper
Glowing a fluorescent white
Reflecting the sins of one’s past
Demons hover over the paper
Crimson, Gold, Violet hues shadowed the purity
It seeps into the white’s skin
Pink, Yellow, Lilac pastels enlightened the page
The angel layed there once again
Now pure, the paper lied there quietly
As the angel loses its wings the paper dimms
Once a fair white, turns to a dark gray
Demons haunted the page
New beginnings start to shift to unforgiven pasts
Even the purest souls, hide dark secrets
Yellows and Blues seep into the page
They find no return
Black paper now lays on the desk
Bothered and Disturbed
It’s purity washed away, the colours mixed together
It was depressing, as if you were trapped in a void of misfortune
Unforgiven sins clouded the page
Reds and Golds pressured its surface
Eventually it tears,
And tears,
And tears,
And tears,
Now torn to pieces, never to be fixed
Colours dripped from the tears
Shadowed with sadness
And never to be pure again.
