This past weekend, Oakmont Sophomore, Emma Goodwin, had the privilege of attending the annual 3-Day MassStar Citizenship Conference at Lasell University. On the campus in Newton, the Massachusetts Youth Leadership Foundation hosted one sophomore from almost every school across the commonwealth. Chosen by the school’s faculty, Emma Goodwin had the honor of being this year’s delegate for Oakmont’s Class of 2027.
Over the course of the three days, the delegates participated in numerous workshops to evolve into, not only a better leader, but a better person overall. These workshops opened the delegates’ eyes and encouraged them to explore their identities and values. Additionally, the debriefs allowed the delegates to dive deeper into what they learned. This experience was transformative and inspirational, so Emma is ready to bring back her new skills and ideas to help improve Oakmont!
