NHS serves local senior citizens

Oakmont National Honors Society hosts local senior citizens for a dinner and show, sponsored by the superintendent’s office. The members of NHS spent the night serving food and getting to know people in the community who have made generous contributions to the school. The photos show NHS student members serving a spaghetti and meatball dinner along with a delicious strawberry shortcake dessert.

Everyone got to know each other better by going around and playing a get-to-know-you Bingo game with the senior citizens. After the meal they made their way into the auditorium to watch the dress rehearsal of the school’s spring production, Mean Girls. This gave the members of the theater the opportunity to rehearse in front of a live audience before their show this weekend and it gave the senior citizens an entertaining night of fun where they got to see what Oakmont students have been working for all year.
