The struggles of being a junior with senior friendships

Seniors Graduation

For juniors this year, the summer will be the time to prepare for the last year of high school. Getting ready to move on in life, go to college, and work full-time. Some of us will be spending as much time as we can with all the friendships with those who are leaving for college.

But thinking how the school will be with senior friendships as a junior, left all alone in the halls, classes. All I have are those few friends I talk to in school. Having to do everything almost all by yourself. Preparing for college, graduating, and turning 18, all by yourself.

Some people have those friendships with seniors that have been through it throughout high school together. What is there left of high school without THOSE friends? Who am I gonna have during prom, during football games, during basketball games, homecoming, spirit week, and graduation, who am I gonna have all year? Myself.

High school is where most friendships start, making plans after school, all the good memories, and the good times happen in school if we think about it.

Now I have to grow up with myself. Although this is sad for me, it’s teaching me how to grow up without any help. Being a social butterfly to now being left with a few people is weird. But it’s important to go through this now rather than later. This experience will teach for the future. It’s like freshman year all over again, or the first time being at a new school. Except everyone knows who you are, and you know who they are.

Overall it’s nice in school, to have no distractions, and get all your work done on time. At least I only have one more year left, right?

Now it’s time to go down the path and get ready for the future.
