About

The Oakmonitor is a paper written for students by students including news articles, sports updates, pop culture commentary, and more. Going online was made possible by adviser Mark Nevard and the SNO company.

Our website was also made possible by the Ashburnham Westminster Foundation for Academic Excellence. The foundation is a charitable organization committed to fostering educational excellence in the Ashburnham and Westminster public schools. They provide a private financial support for exemplary educational projects and programs that benefit the students and educators in Ashburnham and Westminster schools. Mission Statement

The Oakmonitor is Oakmont Regional High School’s student-run newspaper, dedicated to informing, inspiring, and engaging our community through responsible journalism. We strive to uphold journalistic truth and accuracy through integrity, creativity, and strength while reflecting diverse voices within our student body.

Through our publications, we aim to follow our school’s mission statement of providing “an inclusive, nurturing environment where students pursue academic excellence, practice respect, think innovatively, and prepare for life-long participation in an ever-changing global society.” As student journalists, we are dedicated to ethical reporting, communicating clearly and appropriately, while providing accurate information.

That being said, The Oakmonitor’s content is determined solely by the staff and may not necessarily reflect the opinions of Oakmont Regional High School’s faculty, administration, or student body. The staff acknowledges that everyone holds their own opinions and makes a great effort to include a wide variety of perspectives from our community.
