2023 (Taylor’s Version)

2023 was a big year for pop culture, with amazing movies like Barbie and Five Nights at Freddie’s. As well as new music like Olivia Rodrigo’s new album Guts, or Boygenius’s debut album The Record. But one person stuck out in 2023 going on the highest-grossing tour of all time. Releasing two of her biggest albums, which included new tracks from the vault, and produced a movie of her biggest tour yet for everyone to watch.

2023 was a big year for Taylor Swift, let’s start from the beginning. At the end of 2022, Swift released her new album Midnights. This new album sat in the top six of the Billboard 200 for six consecutive weeks. The hit song Anti-Hero sat at number 1 on the Billboard 100 for eight weeks.

On November 1, 2022, Swift announced something that would change music history forever, The Eras Tour. A concert where she would sing everyone’s favorites from each one of her “eras”, this made her fans become absolutely ecstatic not really knowing what to expect from her new concert, which featured two albums that she had not gone on tour for.

This tour would soon become the highest-grossing tour of all time, all tickets were immediately sold out by ticket agencies such as Seat Geek and Ticket Master and sold for significantly higher prices. At these concerts, people would take on an amazing role of dressing as one of Taylor’s eras and trading extravagant friendship bracelets. 

During the first Nashville show on May 5, 2023, of The Eras Tour Taylor announced that she would be rereleasing one of her albums Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) on July 3, 2023. This album release was highly anticipated and ready to the the album of the summer. After the release Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) spent two straight weeks as number one on the Billboard 200. 

With people all over the world unable to afford tickets to the very popular Eras Tour, people would spend their days watching live streams and TikTok of the concert living vicariously through those would could attend. But Swift had a solution to the problem, she then went on to produce and release a movie version of her concert. This movie would be able to bring fun and the experiences of girlhood to everyone around the country. 

On October 23, 2023, one of Taylor Swift’s biggest releases would come out, 1989 (Taylor’s Version). After this release, many new fan-favorite songs that came out from the vault. With songs like Now That We Don’t Talk and Suburban Legends becoming major hits, 1989 would spend five consecutive weeks as number one on the Billboard 200. 

Now that we have caught up to Taylor currently we are able to look at her new relationship which would immediately become everyone’s favorite celebrity couple. With Travis Kelce shooting his shot with Taylor Swift through interviews and podcasts he was finally successful when he “Put the ball in her court.” Soon after Tylor would be seen at a Kansas City Chiefs game. After a couple of months of seeing them out going to parties together and seeing Taylor at Chiefs games. In December of 2023, they would be officially known as dating. 

2023 was Taylor’s year, releasing two albums, going on tour, and beginning a new relationship. She inspired so many to be truly themselves and to grow as individuals. Her songs help so many every day and have changed the world for the better, taking a giant step for women in the music industry.
