Sometimes it takes a little while for a new team to start clicking, but things are flowing just fine for a strong Spartan team. The boys have started the 2024 season going 2-0 beating two hungry teams.

The team took to Doyle Field in Leominster Friday night for a “Sunset Match-Up”. The 6 PM start allowed for a beautiful golden hour of lacrosse. The Spartan’s fan section travels well and did not disappoint, but the first quarter didn’t give them too much to cheer about as both teams went 0-0. Shortly after, the driving Spartans took this game underneath them in a convincing 11-1 victory over the Blue Devils, a team they lost to in overtime on Senior Night last year.

After celebrating a great win, the boys got back to work at practice getting ready to take on the Nipmuc Warriors in their home-opener. Four-quarters of great lacrosse were provided to the packed stands. An exciting 8-6 win for the Spartans at home was a hats-off effort to their hard work in the off-season.

The captains are very proud of their team’s effort during the past few weeks. Senior Captain Tanner Grimley said, ” We play the entire game like it’s 0-0. Everyone, no matter what age, has stepped up into important roles. Coming off of last year’s season, the boys and I are determined to get redemption.”

Make it a point to come watch a boys’ lacrosse game this year. We promise it won’t disappoint!!
