Summertime Music

Summertime+Music

Summer vacation is just around the corner and the best time of the year for music, whether on the beach, a road trip, or a vacation. Listening to music during the summer brings joy to some. Exposure to bright sunlight can boost your mood and make you feel joyful. Can the sun affect what music you listen to? I interviewed five Oakmont Students to hear what they like to listen to during the summer.

The first student I interviewed was Freshman Stella Deschenes, who listens to music on Spotify. Deschenes likes to listen to music on car rides or while swimming in her pool. Deschenes listens to music based on her mood during the summer but mainly listens to music from Bob Marley.

Another student I interviewed was Freshman Elizabeth Bonilia, she uses Spotify to listen to music. Bonilia’s music taste changes each summer, but she mainly plays Spanish Music or Bruno Mars. Bonilla listens to music in her AirPods during road trips or flying on an airplane. Sometimes Bonilia plays music on her speaker and listens to music while she’s swimming.

The next student I interviewed was Freshman Adrienne Laramee, Laramee will typically listen to music while swimming in a pool. Laramee likes to listen to music on Spotify. Depending on Adrienne’s mood, she will typically listen to Kendrick Lamar or Sza during the summer.

The final student I interviewed was Freshman Caylin Joyce, Joyce’s favorite music for summer changes a lot, but she likes cheerful, 2016, upbeat music. During the summer, Joyce listens to music on Spotify. Joyce typically listens to music on a speaker while swimming in her pool.

To summarize, music in the summer can be different for everyone, but based on Oakmont student’s opinions, it appears that the summer is a good time to listen to cheerful and happy music. All the Oakmont students in this article listen to music on Spotify. Most students will mainly listen to music while in a pool or traveling. Overall, Oakmont students will enjoy music in their own way this summer.
