Marching Spartans Travel to Reading for Semi-Finals

On October 25th, the Oakmont-Overlook Marching Spartans went to Reading High School for their second-to-last competition of the season. They are in Division 5 and went up against two other bands, Wakefield and Methuen. After performing last out of all competing bands, they achieved second place with a score of 94.03, about four points more than their previous show score in Wakefield!

This great score closed the gap between Oakmont and the first-place band to only 2.23 points, giving them an immense amount of motivation throughout their final week. Great job, Spartans!

Hazel Huguenin is a part of the class of 2026 at Oakmont Regional High School. This is her third year as a member of The Oakmonitor. She is in the marching band, winter percussion, SADD, and enjoys any art class at Oakmont. In her spare time, she enjoys making and selling pottery, watching sitcoms, and thrifting. After graduation, she plans to go to college and get her Master’s in Elementary Education. She hopes to experience as many events as she can in her last year at Oakmont and is very excited about what her future holds.
