Mike Vrabel was first introduced to the NFL in 1997 when he was drafted in the third round to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He then went to play 14 seasons as a player, then he became a coach, maybe coach of the year.

During his first season in the NFL, playing for the Steelers as a linebacker and special teams player. This season, his team went 11-5 and was the top seed in the AFC Central.
According to bleacherreport.com, one of his best rookie moments was in the AFC playoffs against the Patriots when he strip-sacked the quarterback, taking a 7-6 win to go to the AFC championship game.
He then went on to play his second season for the Steelers in 1998. He still was not starting, but during this season, he got 12 tackles and 2.5 sacks. This year, they went 7-9 and did not make the playoffs.
He continued to play like this for the Steelers until his fifth season in the NFL, when he went to the Patriots as a free agent.

From 2009 to 2010, he played for the Kansas City Chiefs. During his two seasons with them, he got 137 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, and 6 forced fumbles. This is the last team Vrabel played for.
Vrabel’s first coaching job was for Ohio State. With this being his first year as a coach, he took the time to learn how to be a better teacher and build a strong connection with the team. He continued to coach Ohio State for 2 more seasons.
After coaching Ohio State, he then went on to be an assistant for the Houston Texans for a total of 4 seasons.
From 2018 to 2023, he was the head coach for the Tennessee Titans, his first time as a head coach. In his first and second seasons as head coach, Vrabel led the Titans to a 9-7 record. In 2020, for his third season with them, they went 11-5. In 2021, the team had its best season, going 12-5. His last two seasons with them, they finished 7-10 and 6-11.
After his sixth season with the Titans, he was fired. Then, after one season as a consultant for the Cleveland Browns, he became the New England Patriots head coach in 2025.

But Quin Cook says, “He has a lot of passion for the game and he’s making a lot of good play calls, and he is leading us to victory.”
