Posters made, gifts assembled, decorations hung, balloons flying around. It’s finally ‘Senior Night’ for the girls’ varsity soccer team.
The four senior girls— Mikaela Groncki, Bella Suarez, Hannah Duval, and Natalie Alicea— were pumped up on adrenaline for the game.
No more late-night games, fast food stops after winning, singing together on the bus rides home, making stupid chants, or silly Instagram posts. The four girls that I’ve looked up to my entire life are now all grown up and moving to the next stages of their lives.
Starting off strong with Mikaela Groncki, she not only has an impact on people inside, but also outside of soccer. Mikaela is the type of person who can instantly make your day better by making you laugh or putting a smile on your face. She is one of the most helpful, kindhearted, and supportive people.
Next is Bella Suarez, starting soccer at 6 years old to finishing at 17. Bella is such an active leader and makes sure to include everyone in everything. Bella makes sure that she cheers on her teammates both off and on the field. She always keeps a smile on her face, no matter what kind of situation or obstacle crosses her path.
Following is Hannah Duval. Hannah’s drive and determination to become the best version of herself every day shows her passion and love for the sport and her teammates. She is one of a kind, she never gives up, and always shows up for people, no matter what.
Last but not least, Natalie Alicea. Natalie is a key player to the team. She stands her ground and almost always has the entire team bonding before a game. Natalie makes sure that every single person and player on the team feels their value. She is always willing to give her 100% and make someone’s day.
The connections between these four girls are undeniable. Through the highs and lows, the wins and losses, these four girls stuck by each other’s side and finished this season off amazingly! No matter where each of their paths takes them, these girls will always have a bond that is unbreakable.
A big thank you to the coaches, parents, and fans for sticking with the team throughout the entire season!
