Are you looking for a scary movie to watch on Halloween night that’s sure to send you to bed with nightmares? Something that will make you shut your closet door at night? Or even check under your bed! Michael Myers is the name to remember and face to recognize.

Micheal Myers is a 6’7 225 pound serial killer that can hold a grudge. This fictional character is portrayed in 10 franchise movies dating all the way back to 1978. The most recent being “Halloween” in 2018 and the next “Halloween Kills” coming in 2021.

The character is played by a total of thirteen actors all the way from 6’9 Tyler Mane to 5’6 Nick Castle.

Micheal had a troubled childhood from the jump, starting out as a 12 year old boy with anger in his mind played by Daeg Faerch. The movies portray young Michael as this little boy that gets an unwavering habit to kill. He starts his reign of terror when he gets an itch to kill animals. His first encounter happens when he fills his locker with beaten cats and dogs and eventually slits his pet hamster’s neck.

Micheal had a turning point for the worst on October 31st, when he killed his older sister Judith, his step dad, and Judith’s boyfriend with a knife bigger than himself. His disguise was his mask he was going to go trick or treating in. Throughout the series this mask is Michael’s symbol, he is connected to it, when he puts it on he turns into the killer he is known to be.

He admits to it and spends the next 19 years locked up in a psych jail. When he breaks out, he continues his killing spree but stops when he hesitates to kill his sister  and his sister “kills” him.

I say “kill” like that because Michael doesn’t really die. This is a common theme with Mr. Myers dating all the way back to 1978 when he was shot in the head multiple times and continued his killing spree. The fictional character is based on a demonized person that doesn’t die easily and in fact hasn’t died in all ten movies.

Like all “humans”, Michael has a soft spot which leaves him vulnerable, his little sister. During his first killing spree he kills everyone in the house except his little sister who was about a year old at the time. In every movie, whenever Micheal gets close to killing his sister he freezes and can’t seem to do it. Will he commit the murder next time?

Put your big boy briefs on, sit down, turn the lights off, get some popcorn and enjoy your halloween with a little bit of Michael Myers. Every movie that comes out gets better and better and I can’t wait to watch the next one in 2021.
