The last semester has been ongoing for about two and a half months. Now, with spring approaching, college decisions coming out, and events such as Prom and the senior trip, many seniors from Oakmont are starting to calm down and prepare for what the real world has to bring. In my opinion, spring is one of the best times of year; the transition from the cold, weary winter to beautiful spring makes my heart warm. A handful of Oakmont seniors have a lot of expression at this time of year.
Senior, Ayden Morse has a handful to say. ¨I feel like this time of year is when I feel the most motivated to get out of school. I’m really ready to tackle the challenge life has to offer outside of school. The air is getting warmer, and the snow is slowly defrosting, and I am honestly ready to graduate, and I’m so ready for summer.¨
Senior Avery Williams stated, “I cannot wait to get out of high school; I am genuinely so excited to see what life is about.”
I also asked some juniors how they are feeling about their upcoming last year of high school.
Junior, Yasmin Castro says,¨I am very excited for all the upcoming senior activities, but I am definitely going to miss all of my senior friends¨.
Another Junior, Cecelia Sears, says, ¨I cannot wait for activities like senior sunrise and senior trip and to graduate.¨
This time of year for us Seniors is a bittersweet feeling. Growing up is very scary, and we honestly just have to stick by. The present will all be memories, and before we know it, we will probably not see any individuals ever again after this. But I can certainly agree that I am ready to leave and start a new chapter, just like the rest of my peers.
