Front desk staff are often the first people we see when we first walk into the school building, or when our parents drop something off for us. For us here at Oakmont, we are fortunate to have Mrs. Inga Morin and Mrs. Laurie Kortegast working at the front office of our high school.
Sometimes, their hard work is easy to overlook. They manage many calls, greet tardy students, answer constant questions, and organize all daily tasks. They have great patience and the ability to stay calm under pressure to help create a smooth, welcoming environment for everyone.
Beyond their daily tasks, they act as problem solvers for student schedules, attendance, and needs. Their dedication and willingness to help with all of our problems show that they deserve appreciation and gratitude from all of us.
Showing appreciation for our school’s front desk staff matters more than people would usually think. A simple thank you, or a kind action can brighten their day and recognize the effort they put in behind the scenes. Their story is not just sitting behind an old desk; they set the mood for the entire office to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable throughout our school day.
