Oakmont’s “Night in Vegas” Prom 2026!
On Saturday, May 9th, Oakmont’s Prom, “Night in Vegas,” was hosted by the Colonial Hotel. The beautiful decorations consisted of poker dinner tables, a card entryway arch, and giant dice around the room. The atmosphere was perfectly set up to showcase the theme and make the entire event feel like it was taking place in a casino.
The night started with an amazing dinner of chicken broccoli Alfred, London Broil, Caesar salad, and grilled potatoes. Just outside the ballroom was an open-air photo booth, and simultaneously, the line grew as more people arrived at the prom.
After dinner, there was a very entertaining surprise. Ms. Brown’s AP Chemistry class did a flash mob to the song “Timewarp,” which kick-started the night of dancing! The DJ, “Blake Curry of Curry Events,” put on a diverse mix of classics and remixes of new pop songs. The dance floor never seemed empty, and compared to Prom 2025 and 2024, this year was definitely the winner for most people moving!
Head of Prom Committee and junior student, Nadalee Madhere, said, “At the end of the day, you’ll have a fun time if you’re around the right people!” This seems to prove true every year, continuing,“…it was a great way to begin wrapping up what has been a long, stressful school year for a lot of our rising juniors and departing seniors.”
Ms. Martin, junior class advisor, said she hoped, “… the night created nice memories for all the Oakmont students who went!” I can confidently say that, because of the amazing decorations, great venue staff, and a great attitude given the weather, the event was extremely successful!
As a senior and on behalf of everyone who attended the prom, I want to thank the junior class advisors, Ms. Martin and Mrs. Campagna, and the junior class prom committee for making Prom 2026 amazing!
