Oakmont Design students face off against Gardner in a Vex Robotics scrimmage on Thursday, February 15th. The scrimmage was held in the small gym. The scrimmage will eventually lead to a competition. The competition will have seeds, and schools will progress and advance by winning against other schools. At our school, the Design Tech teachers helped organize the event. Our robots were built and programmed by non other than the Oakmont students in Engineering Design and Advanced Engineering classes. More specifically, each robot is built for different strategies: launching, retrieving, and barricading. The robots have been in testing for since September. If you are interested in participating in the event, you must enroll in the Design Technology course first. From there, you will have the opportunity to advance into other classes and build robots. Next up for the Oakmont engineers, is a scrimmage against Nashoba. Good luck to all our students competing!
